The theater receives an expansion in a northwesterly direction. In addition, the flat roofs are raised in two areas. During the construction work, the carpentry, the metal workshop and the painting hall remain in operation in the theater. The interior is partly completely renewed, partly gently renovated.

The heating system (previously oil and gas boilers) receives district heating (800 KW) from the St.Galler Stadtwerke. The heat distribution and radiators are partly replaced and supplemented. New KVS systems are created with WRG. Refrigeration systems are added for various rooms and individual ventilation systems are partially air-conditioned.
