With this invitation to tender, the Finnish Environment Institute (Syke) is looking for a translation service provider for 2023-2025 with an option for the next two years. The editor's task is to translate texts into Swedish and/or English in accordance with separate orders and, upon request, to carry out other word processing work related to text processing or publication that is billed as hourly work.
The translations can concern anything related to Syke's operations. Based on the tendering process, Syke selects one supplier with whom it will conclude a framework agreement.
The procurement is not divided into parts, as translation into both languages is considered more cost-effective with one supplier and there is a comprehensive supply for both languages on the market.
With this invitation to tender, we are looking for a translation service provider for 2023-2025 with an option for the next two years. The supplier's task is to translate Finnish texts provided by Syke into Swedish and/or English in accordance with separate orders. The text content produced must meet the requirements of the EU Web Accessibility Directive and meet the WCAG 2.1 level AA criteria (Web Content Accessibility Guidelines, see links), if the original text to be translated is intended as such.
The materials to be translated can cover any matter related to Syke's operations. Syke's divisions are listed in Appendix 1. As a rule, the translations are aimed at environmental professionals and information management, information system providers, environmental managers and decision-makers, other authorities and citizens.
Upon request, the translation must use a term bank named by Syke, such as the Environmental Dictionary EnDic ( https://mot.kielikone.fi/mot/endic/netmot.exe?UI=fied )
The procurement concerns only translation and language expert work carried out in the Finnish-English and Finnish-Swedish language pairs.
Syke can also order other additional work related to text processing that is not actual translation work as hourly work. Syke specifies the work separately with its order, and the supplier gives an estimate of the workload in advance and invoices the work at the hourly rate given in the offer. The work may include, for example: text editing or publishing, such as entering into the CMS used by Syke (Drupal or Wordpress).
