The Port of Tilbury London Ltd (POTLL) the Employer and the Environment Agency (EA) as a joint venture are to replace the 3 sets of mitre gates at the Port of Tilbury Lock. By means of the addition of a removable 3.0 m high extension to the top of the outer gates, the outer gates shall serve as a flood defence barrier with a flood defence level of 7.0m AOD.
