Description:
Implementation of active protection procedures in Natura 2000 Izbickie Marshes within the framework of project no. POIS.02.04.00-00-0108/16. Protection of habitats and species of non-forest areas dependent on water (stage V) in c

1. The subject of the order is the removal of tree growths and raids from the 7120 habitat lobes with a total area of 30.48 hectares in the Natura 2000 Izbickie Marshes area, including the elevation of biomass from an area of 22.70 ha.

2. Protective action for habitat 7120 high degraded bog but capable of natural and stimulated regeneration will be carried out in the area Natura 2000 Izbickie Swamps PLH220001 and the nature reserve “Izbickie Swamps”, on land belonging to the Forest Forest Forest Area of Damnica, Forestry Headliners.

3. The location of active protection activities is shown on the map in Annex 1.1.

4. The subject of the order must be executed in accordance with the applicable Polish and EU law, in particular the Act of 16 April 2004 on Nature Conservation (i.e. Journal of Laws of 2021, item 1098, as amended).

1. Removal of tree growth and raid should be performed using hand tools (pruners, machete, cleaver, axe) or scythe and flue saw. Braz shoots growing in clumps with protected species (common marsh Ledum palustre, European waxworm Myrica gale, Cloudberry Rubus chamaemorus) are recommended to be cut by hand using secateurs, axes, cleaver.

2. The selection of equipment to perform the work should depend on the type and size of the shoots necessary for removal. When using a flue saw or flue scythe, remember the need to selectively cut trees from clumps of protected species, the lowest possible cutting height and proper treatment efficiency (do not leave Brz regrowth up to 40 cm high).

3. Trees and bloom should be cut as low as possible at the ground itself together with the root necks, without destroying neighboring plants. Carps should be left in the ground. Birch and pine seedlings can be plucked with roots.

4. The resulting biomass should be taken beyond the lobes of habitat 7120 and distributed evenly throughout the forest, outside the boundaries of the individual biochors, but in their vicinity. Detailed places and method of distribution of biomass will be indicated on an ongoing basis by employees of the Damnica Forest District. It is allowed to leave cut shoots above approx. 0.5 m in a small compaction at the site of the notch.

5. On the surface of the bog there is valuable vegetation, sensitive to mechanical damage, which requires protection against destruction during the work. When performing actions, technologies that ensure maximum protection of the surface of the bog should be used.

6. Natura 2000 Izbice Marshes is the site of protected plant species, including Rubus chamaemorus cloudberry, European waxworm Myrica gale and Ledum palustre common marsh. Destruction of specimens of protected plant species should be absolutely avoided when removing regrowth and tree raid, moving around the reserve, as well as when decomposing biomass.

7. The boundaries of the surface on which the protective actions will be performed are described by PL-1992 flat rectangular coordinates (shp. layers). It is required that the Contractor has GPS equipment used to independently control the course of the boundaries of the work surface.
