Duisburger Verkehrsgesellschaft AG, together with the city of Duisburg and commercial enterprises, is planning the barrier-free expansion of tram line 903 in Duisburg Meiderich with financial support from the federal government and the state of North Rhine-Westphalia.
The project planning comprises a total of three construction phases (North - Central/2022 - South). The tendered services include the barrier-free expansion of the Landschaftspark Nord stop and the associated new construction of the tracks as well as the redesign of the road cross-section on Neumühler Straße, between Bonhoefferstraße and Arnold-Dehnen-Straße. Instead of the existing side platforms, a central platform with a useful length of around 70 metres and a step 24 cm above SE is planned. The excess length serves as a relief for event traffic to the nearby industrial and cultural park. Furthermore, construction services are included here, which are not part of the funding measure
according to §12 ÖPNVG NRW and are thus self-financed by the clients.
Details can be found in the specifications.
