The Landesbetrieb Straßenbau NRW, in cooperation with the Autobahn GmbH of the federal government, is planning to close the gap between the current end of the A 46 motorway west of Hemer and the A 445 in the Arnsberg / Neheim area under the project name 46sieben. The Hemer / Menden section will be designed as a four-lane motorway, the Menden / Arnsberg-Neheim section as a three-lane federal highway. For the planning, the traffic planning service phases 1 and 2 as well as the noise and air pollutant investigation must be carried out.
