In the new building of the Max Planck Institute for Physics in Garching, laboratory and workshop areas are being realized in 2 separate construction phases. The laboratory and workshop buildings share a common basement, which does not, however, encompass the entire area of the two sections. The laboratory building is a 5-story building, while the workshop building is a 4-story building. Both buildings are connected by a walkway on the ground floor, 1st floor and 2nd floor. Apart from a few storage rooms in the basement, all laboratory and laboratory-associated facilities are located in the laboratory building

Production areas on one level on the ground floor with approx. 2,040 square meters. According to the use, the ground floor is divided as follows:

- Standard laboratories: physical-technical;

- Clean room areas: Manufacturing u. Research, chip / hybrid manufacturing (ISO 7);

- Special laboratories: laser, chemistry, cryostat;

- Manufacturing area: plant engineering;

- Manufacturing area: electronics.

The workshop building houses precision engineering and electrical engineering workshops from the ground floor to the second floor. The areas also have training workshops. There is also a large assembly hall that extends over all 3 above-ground floors.

Execution must be started: within 12 working days after receipt of the request by the client (Section 5 (2) sentence 2 VOB / B); the request is anticipated. to be received by December 18, 2020.

The service must be completed (ready for acceptance): within 230 working days of the deadline specified above for the start of work.
