Qualification phase - framework agreement for a consultant for technical disciplines

This contract will cover Stad ship tunnel's need for technical assistance within the disciplines listed in the qualification requirements 4.3 in the tender invitation, as well as associated disciplines or specialisations within other technical areas.

The Norwegian Coastal Administration has been given the task of constructing Stad ship tunnel, the world's first full-scale ship tunnel. The goal of the project is two improve accessibility and safety for sea transport past Stad, probably the most weather exposed and most dangerous part of the sea along the Norwegian coast. The ship tunnel will be constructed where the Stad peninsula is at its narrowest, between Molde fjord and Kjødepollen, in Vanylvs fjord. The tunnel will be 1.7 km long (2.2 kom with the entrance areas), 50 m high, and 36 m wide, which means that vessels up to the size of Kystruten and Hurtigruten will be able to sail safely past Stadlandet.

The actual construction project will be carried out by a main contractor. The construction start can be in 2025.

The Norwegian Coastal Administration is a transport agency under the Ministry of Trade, Industry and Fisheries. The Norwegian Coastal Administration is responsible for the sea route. We see to safe and efficient transport along the coast and in to ports, and are responsible for the national contingency plans for acute pollution. Our vision is to develop the coast and sea areas into the world's safest and cleanest. Stad ship tunnel is part of this work.

We are now looking for a consultant and collaboration partner who will be us until the tunnel has been completed.

The contracting authority draws attention to the fact that the execution of the project and the contract depend on a satisfactory contest, the project's finances, political approval, and financing.
