Structural change

On the ground floor, the new main entrance of the break hall is being built, which will be made more spacious and representative by a building extension in the north. The break hall opens up through a large glazing both towards the schoolyard in the north and towards the green schoolyard in the south, thus creating a connection between the two outdoor areas.

facade

The façade of the ground floor will be glazed on both sides in the area of the break hall. For this purpose, a large part of the load-bearing outer walls on the south side, as well as the glass blocks on the north side, will be demolished and replaced by mullion-transom facades. The façade of the break hall extension is intended to take up the exposed concrete, which was also used as a design element in the extension of component D. The load-bearing reinforced concrete walls are clad with a suspended exposed concrete façade and thermal insulation in between. The walls continue in the exterior through two opposite exposed concrete wall panels, which border the covered front area of the extension. The canopy of the extension is also designed as a precast exposed concrete element in the same appearance.
