The Felix Mendelssohn Bartholdy School is being expanded as a 4-class grammar school in accordance with the model room program. For this purpose, the school building will be completely renovated. To accommodate the additional space requirements, the attic will be expanded. The building will be barrier-free.
There is a considerable backlog of renovations and deficiencies in fire protection, such as the lack of a 2nd structural escape route in the north-eastern wing of the building.
The roof covering is damaged and needs to be replaced. The roof truss and the lying dusts in the unused attic space are heavily contaminated with wood agents.
Due to insufficient load-bearing capacity, the conversion of the attic requires the structural upgrading of the existing last floor ceiling.
Currently, the building is not barrier-free. Due to the elevated ground floor, barrier-free access to the building is not possible. Barrier-free toilets are not available.
The building is in need of improvement in terms of its heat losses.

The school building, which was built in solid construction around 1900, is located on the property at Eugen-Schönhaar-Str. 18 as a block development in the rear part. The three-winged main building is accessed through the passage and passage of the four-storey front building.
In 1997/1998, major renovations were carried out in the entire school building, Nawi rooms were set up. In recent years, an elevator has been installed that does not reach all floors barrier-free (only northeast wing UG-Hof-EG), as the location of the gymnasium in the middle wing means that no access by elevator is possible on both sides at the same time (no access corridor available). The northeastern side wing lacks a staircase as a second escape route due to war damage. The basement of this wing was converted into a student club last year. There are currently apartments in the front building.

The refectory is located on the mezzanine floor of the northern side wing. In combination with the student club in the basement, which was renovated in 2011, this area forms an independent ensemble of uses that can be used independently of the school. The building is in need of improvement in terms of its heat losses.
Most of the technical equipment is not state-of-the-art and must be renewed in plant groups 1-3 and 6-8. Basic services include:
- Continuous and timely information of all parties involved,
- close coordination with all parties involved,
- Timely bringing about decisions of the client,
- Adherence to project goals, such as deadlines, construction costs, BPU, etc.
The project was launched in 2016 and a planner for the technical equipment was put out to tender and contracted. This provides the planning services of service phases 1-5. The other services (LP 6-8) are to be provided on this basis. Therefore, the contractor must first familiarize himself with the previous planning status. This also includes any necessary site visits and clarifications.
Accessibility must be established.
