Description:

The JRC Karlsruhe plans to purchase an ‘in situ’ nanomechanical testing system for operation in a SEM/FIB environment. The system shall allow the measurement of mechanical properties at submicrometer length scale of a number of different materials including metals, alloy, ceramics, ceramics matrix composites, etc. Mechanical tests such as indentation, tension (optional), compression, bending, etc. shall be carried out on nano/micro scale structures FIB milled from the material of interest.
