The successful tenderer will be required to provide cleaning and domestic services at Papworth Hospital NHS Foundation Trust.

Papworth Hospital is the UK's largest specialist cardiothoracic hospital and the country's main heart and lung transplant centre. The hospital treats over 22,800 inpatient and day cases and 53,400 outpatient cases each year from across the UK. The hospital's services are internationally recognised and include cardiology, respiratory medicine, and cardiothoracic surgery and transplantation.

The hospital and its staff have an extraordinary commitment to delivering the highest levels of clinical quality and outcomes, and for providing the best possible standards of personalised care for their patients. Clearly the delivery of high quality cleaning and domestic services is integral to this commitment.

The contract will commence from 1.1.2014 for three years, with an option for a further two-year extension at the end of the contract term.

The contract will encompass cleaning and domestic services across the entire hospital site and properties including but not limited to:

- Inpatient wards

- Critical care unit and cardiac rehabilitation

- Theatre areas

- Outpatient areas

- Administrative and office buildings

- Public areas

- Staff and visitor accommodations

The current cost of cleaning and domestic services for the above areas is in excess of £1million per annum.

The contract being offered is a fixed cost contract for core services based on an output specification and an agreed schedule of rates for deep cleaning and periodic cleans.
