The notice is a modification to a Contract in accordance with Article of Directive 2014/24/EU Art 72.

Department for Social Development (DSD) appointed an IT service provider for the provision of CLAS and CHECK testing for DSD ICT systems. All ICT systems require accreditation to meet the required CESG (Information Assurance Standard (IS1) — Technical Risk Assessment and Information Assurance Standard (IS2) — Risk Management and Accreditation of Information Systems standards.

DSD currently have 7 ICT systems and websites that require ongoing accreditation. The pending creation of new Departments will potentially mean that parts of DOE,DEL & DCAL ICT systems will fall under our remit although the actual number of systems has yet to be confirmed.

The current contract is due to expire in early July 2015.

CPD have indicated that the process of delivery of an NICS solution is starting but no timeline is confirmed as yet. It would not be sensible for DSD to put in place a new lengthy contract for the provision of these services whilst an NICS solution is pending.

To facilitate DSDs current requirement the current 3 year contract has been extended for 9 months to ensure system accreditation continues and ICT systems continue to be compliant with CESG standards until an NICS solution is delivered to which we can align.
