Issues have arisen with approximately 79 (800mm x 800mm) waffle slab units cracking and spalling due to reinforcement corrosion which could lead to large section of concrete falling onto the public. Funding has been allocated to reduce the worst areas of degradation to extend the useful life of the structure.
