The following services are required: - opening of the premises and related activities: taking over the keys, commissioning all electrical and electronic equipment available to the public and verifying their correct functioning (preparation of all library rooms, switching on of lights and starting of air conditioning systems when necessary), mail withdrawal;
- closure of the premises and related activities: accurate control of the exit of all users from the rooms, control of the bag lockers, closing windows, turning off equipment, accurate closing of the doors and insertion of any alarm system;
- delivery or custody of keys;
- periodic control of the correct functioning of all electrical and electronic equipment available to the public, loading paper and toner in photocopying and printing stations, timely reporting of malfunctions according to the methods indicated, assistance to users in the use of the equipment, verification / control of anti-shoplifting barriers;
- relocation of bibliographic material:
- relocation and reorganization on the shelves of the volumes consulted by users and left out of place;
- alignment of the volumes and control of the supports placed on the shelves;
- reporting to the staff of any errors related to the signature of the volumes indicated on the tag, replacement of discolored or missing labels, reporting of works that need binding;
- search for books not found on the shelves, reporting of volumes not found;
- moving blocks of book material;
- collection of statistical data (e.g.: number of works requested for consultation, number of users present in the rooms, etc.) according to the procedures established by the University Library System;
- recovery from the shelves of documents requested by users;
- registration of the works requested in consultation;
- loan, return, booking and renewal service (including recovery of overdue loans and communication with users for reminders and / or renewals by e-mail or telephone);
- renewal of users' subscriptions with update of the date on ALMA to allow the issuance of the loan;
- management of requests, including telephone and e-mail, relating to opening hours to the public, services and equipment available, location and availability of bibliographic material;
- provision to users of forms and documentation relating to the library;
- first assistance and information to users on how to use the online catalogues on the website of the University Library System (https://onesearch.unisi.it/);
- first assistance to users for the use of the Internet service;
- vigilance in order to ensure compliance by users regarding the correct use of the premises, goods and bibliographic material;
- maintaining order and silence necessary for the regular conduct of consultation and reading activities;
- timely and punctual reporting, according to the methods indicated, of malfunctions, anomalies or complaints occurring or communicated by users;
- recovery, custody and delivery of objects left by users according to the methods indicated.
