Located on an island in Lake Schwerin, the listed castle consists of 5 building wings and houses the state parliament, museum, castle café, and castle church. The medallion room with the side rooms in the high cellar is to be expanded for gastronomic use. The adjoining rooms include the toilet area for the medallion hall as well as for the canteen and the cloakroom.
The dining room is accessed via the Burggarten.
Measures for constructive security, stabilization of building physics and room climate conditions, as well as house, fire protection and usage requirements must be taken into account in planning terms. A gastronomic use places very high demands on building services, taking into account the conservation requirements. For example, ventilation ducts for the required supply air must be installed under the newly installed floor with underfloor heating.
The construction area is located in the listed complete ensemble. The adjacent areas are in use.
