ESB owns the public electrical transmission and distribution systems in Ireland. Within ESB Networks, the High Voltage Delivery & Contracting (HVD&C) organisation is responsible for construction and maintenance works on the high voltage networks (from 38kV to 400kV). During 2014 and 2015, the HVD&C organisation expects to initiate and complete over 360 individual capital projects. These projects are delivered by a combination of internal and contracted resources and have a broad national footprint.

ESB Networks seeks to procure a support service of Safety Advisor to assist our Project Managers in the execution of their safety roles. Working directly with the Project Manager and his/her team, the responsibilities of Safety Advisor will include;

Provide advise and support to the Project Manager on the execution of the Project Managers responsibilities as PSCS or PSCP and other key legislative requirements.

On behalf of the Project Manger, develop and maintain a Construction Stage Health and Safety Plan

Development of Risk Assessments and Method Statements for key projects

Monitor compliance with safe procedures and good practice through an on site audit regime.

Provide all relevant safety file information to the PSDP.

Support the HVD&C Project Managers generally on health and safety matters as required.
