Surface detection in water bodies
for the Explosive Ordnance Disposal Service Westphalia-Lippe (KBD WL)
Due to planned expansion measures of the Rhine-Herne Canal in the area of Castrop-Rauxel and Herne, a computer-aided geomagnetic measured value recording is to be carried out in the canal section from km 38+420 to km 42+460 just above the canal floor, i.e. below the waterline, to detect possible explosive ordnance contamination.
The length of the canal floor section to be explored is 4.04 km, the width is 25 m at the narrowest point and 95 m at the widest point. The total size of the water-covered area to be inspected thus amounts to around 180,000 m2. The average water depth in the sounding area is between 3.75 m and 4.60 m.
The perimeter coordinates of the areas to be probed shall be transmitted to the contractor before the start of the detection measure by the user.
