The Caritas Hospital in Lebach is an acute hospital for basic and standard care. According to the hospital plan of the Saarland until 2025, the clinic has a planned number of beds / places of 213 beds / places in the following department structure:

- General surgery with 58 beds,

- Plastic and aesthetic surgery with 8 beds,

- Geriatrics with 25 beds,

- haematology and oncology with 27 beds,

- General internal medicine with 80 beds,

- intensive care with 10 beds,

- Geriatric day clinic with 5 places

The structural stock is characterized by extensive structural defects in the field of fire protection. After an intensive discussion about the future of the site, it was decided in 2020 to maintain it while reorienting content in the sense of a house with a cross-disciplinary focus in the field of ageing medicine.

The Caritas Hospital Lebach is therefore to receive a replacement building. This includes the construction of a new ward building including intensive care unit, CNA, outpatient clinic structure and functional diagnostics. Funding is sought in accordance with the Saarland Hospital Act. The funding decision is not yet available.

The entire clinic is affected by the fire protection deficiencies with the exception of the operating area and the existing chapel; the planning currently also provides for the demolition of the chapel.

Currently, a GFA of 15,721 m2 and a NUF of 9,197 m2 are assumed for the new construction measure.

Most of the work phases 1 to 4 have already been completed. In some cases, parts of the services from the previous service phases must be provided in addition (cf. draft contract, handed over as award document E – E.1 together with annexes). The current status of the planning as well as the cost calculation (figures July 2022!) are enclosed with the award documents (project documents zip folder - award document E – E.2).

Object planning services (buildings and interiors) are procured. The contract refers to the basics of the HOAI in accordance with §§ 34 Abs. 4, 35 Abs. 7 HOAI, service phases 5-9. However, the performance profile described there is not exhaustive. The complete performance profile underlying the tendered service results solely from the contract documents (draft contract handed over as award document E – E.1 together with annexes) In addition to the basic services of work phases 5 to 9, the following additional services must be provided:

- Preservation of existing buildings and waterproofing concept

For the new contractor, an induction and examination phase is also planned with regard to the existing documents.
