CAREMED
The Free State of Bavaria, represented by the StBA Erlangen – Nuremberg, intends to erect another research building on the north campus of the University Hospital Erlangen, the so-called CARE-MED (TRCIII) on the construction site between the existing buildings Translational Research Center (TRC I) in the east, the TRC IV in the west, the former sanatorium and nursing home in the south and the TRC II in the southeast. As a result, the construction site, together with the surrounding fire brigade bypass, is severely limited in all directions, the floor area of the TRC III building is approx. 750m2.
It is a construction project for a research building in accordance with Article 91b (1) sentence 1 of the Basic Law (GG).
In the immediate vicinity of the construction site, the start of construction of the TRC II construction project is imminent. At the same time, the remaining work on the infrastructure measures for the supply and disposal of the TRC II, the former HuPfla and the TRC III (preliminary measures for the later infrastructural connection) is currently taking place. Completion of the TRC II building is scheduled for 2025, with the commissioning phase scheduled for 2026.
The construction of the TRC III building is planned from III/2026 to the end of IV/2028.
The space and function program includes a total of 1,976.5 m2 of usable space NUF 1-7 (1,494 m2 NUF 1-6) according to DIN 277-1. The proportion of laboratory research areas is 597 m2 NF 1-6, the proportion of office space / service room areas 781 m2 NF 1-6 and seminar areas / teaching facilities 116 m2 NF 1-6.
The space program focuses on areas for AI-augmented imaging, AI-augmented sensor technology, advanced AI, medical data science, imaging laboratories (MRI, C-arm) and sensor laboratories (vibration-sensitive devices, gait analysis system, radar scanner, photogrammetry system).
The total volume of the new building is estimated at a total of approx. €38.5 million in total construction costs (construction price index status IV/2022), plus construction price development and risk costs.

Explanations of the RLBau2020:
In LPH5, in addition to the cost determination via the LVs, the cost calculation from LPH3 must also be updated with the submission of the PP. The costs must therefore be broken down according to KGR and KKEs in order to present the entries in the M5 forms in a comprehensible manner.
The courses submitted in the PP are to be updated for the later LPH6
