Since 1994, the Department of Haute-Savoie has developed the departmental observatory, whose primary objective is to be a real reference tool on the evolution of the department by gathering the data essential to understanding the territory. Originally, it was limited to analysing data from the general population census, but today it offers a global and transversal vision of the territory, while taking a long-term view. It should make it possible to provide the institution's services, local authorities and departmental stakeholders with the benchmarks they need to support their decisions, by producing spatialized information within the departmental territory
