Overall management and management of the library services of the Municipality of Borgo Virgilio:

- management of services to the public, management of collections as a whole and new acquisitions, management of interlibrary loan,

- the planning, organization and implementation of reading promotion activities for children and adults, previously agreed with the administration,

- the connection with the technical-library activities of the Mantovana library network and participation in its technical meetings,

- the care of the internal and external communication of the library and of the relationships with schools and cultural associations of the territory previously agreed with the municipal administration,

- reporting and monitoring of the overall management of libraries.

A) The amount of the service is established in:

- "Virgilio" municipal library: n. 28 working hours per week for n. 49 weeks per year for an estimated total amount of n. 1 372 total working hours per year, therefore n. 4 116 total working hours for the entire contractual period,

- "Borgoforte" municipal library: n. 12 working hours per week for n. 49 weeks per year for an estimated total amount of n. 588 total working hours per year, therefore n. 1 764 total working hours for the entire contractual period.

Within the total hours indicated, the following opening hours must be guaranteed:

- "Virgilio" municipal library: n. 20 hours per week for n. 49 annual weeks, providing for n. 2 weeks of closing year in August and n. 1 week of closure for the Christmas holidays,

- "Borgoforte" municipal library: n. 8 hours per week for n. 49 annual weeks, providing for n. 2 weeks of closing year in August and n. 1 week of closure for the Christmas holidays.

B) Libraries currently observe the following opening hours to the public:

- summertime,

- "Virgilio" municipal library: Tuesday - Wednesday - Friday and Saturday from 9.00 to 12.00; Thursday 18: 00-21: 00,

- "Borgoforte" municipal library: Monday 10: 00-12: 00, Wednesday 15: 30-18: 30, Saturday 9: 00-12: 00,

- winter period,

- "Virgilio" municipal library: Tuesday 9: 30-12: 30 / 15-18: 30, Wednesday-Thursday-Friday 15: 00-18: 30, Saturday 9.30-12.30.

- municipal library "Borgoforte": Monday 10: 00-12: 00, Wednesday 15: 30-18: 30, Saturday 9: 00-12: 00.

The opening times outlined above may undergo changes, both temporary and permanent, in relation to the specific needs of the service and users, determined by the city council.

C) The documentary book heritage is made up as follows:

- "Virgilio" municipal library: books: 20 902 - DVD: 639 - periodicals: 231,

- "Borgoforte" municipal library: books: 6 291 - DVD: 386.

Libraries are associated with the Mantovana library network and must deal with it in their operational choices and orientations through direct relations with the other affiliated libraries and with its management staff.

Book purchases are coordinated with the Mantovana library network and the municipal culture office.

The municipal administration provides the premises of the "Virgilio" municipal library and the "Borgoforte" municipal library and ensures every ordinary and extraordinary maintenance, as well as provides for the costs related to heating, cleaning, utilities (water, electricity, gas, telephone), postal services.
