FÁS plans to vacate its current Baggot Street offices in the coming months. A new location for HO has not yet been identified, but it will be within the central Dublin area. There are

currently two server rooms in Baggot Street and these will be merged and relocated to our new premises.

Our two server rooms support FÁS in all its business functions. There are currently over 100 offices on our WAN, in addition to the services we provide our own staff – our internal applications are accessed by the DSP, the Local Employment Service, (Contracted Trainers, CE Supervisors.) We are also hosting filtered Internet access for over 50 training locations and we run a weekly payroll for almost 16,000 trainees. In addition there are our public facing Internet sites, jobbank.fas.ie, our mobile apps, the Jobbridge internship system to name but a few.

This tender relates to the complete fit out of the new server room. The successful tenderer will be required to fulfil all aspects of fitting out a server room, from the electrics to the air cooling units to the server and communications racks. The only aspect of the sever room which the tender does not cover is the server and communications hardware itself.

The server room will need to accommodate approximately 12 racks, all of the standard 42U height– two of these will be for communications equipment, with a width of 750 mm, the remaining 10 will be of standard size. There will be no blade servers, but there will be one SAN. Suppliers must be able to provide a complete fit out service comprising of:

— Room preparation,

— UPS solution,

— Air cooling units,

— Fire suppression system,

— Electrical cabling,

— Network cabling.

And ALL ancillary services.
