The order includes structural engineering according to § 51 HOAI LPH 3-6 and engineering control for the renovation of primary school and sports hall Minfeld The contract includes object planning buildings and interiors according to part 3 section 1 HOAI for the renovation of primary school and sports hall Minfeld The buildings of today's primary school in Minfeld were built in 1963/64. In this high time of the Cold War, the building was conceived as a “primary school” on the one hand and as an “auxiliary hospital” in the event of a possible nuclear war.

Over the past few decades, the original flat roofs, which were probably leaking, have been fitted with saddle or pent roofs. Since 2001, about 2/3 of the basement of the gym has been used for tape rehearsal rooms or as a youth meeting. In 2007, the main building and the toilet facilities mentioned were renovated. The gym hasn't been rehabilitated yet. Since the construction of the entire plant, there have been no conversions or extensions that intervened in the basic structure of the building.

Due to increasing number of pupils, it can be assumed that the formerly one-time primary school will be two-speed in the long term. It requires 4 additional classrooms, differentiation rooms, additional rooms for administration and all-day care.

Concept School building The main building is to be increased by a floor with 4 classrooms. All classrooms are given a differentiation room. In the stairwell area of the first floor, so-called “hour toilets” are created. Connections for it already exist.

The canteen is planned in the western part of the ground floor (today's teacher area).

Administration and teacher areas are housed on the ground floor in the north. The southern part becomes a playing area or break hall. The eastern room on the ground floor is to be used as a dividable multifunctional room.

A lift is planned in the western stairwell so that all floors can be accessed barrier-free.

In addition to building technology rooms, the basement also houses function rooms such as a library, computer room, storage rooms, a social work room and a group room.

Concept Gym The existing south façade with glass blocks leads to summer overheating and high energy consumption. The façades are to be rehabilitated and the south side should be shaded.

In the future, the hall will also be able to be used for events or meetings all year round. The separate dressing areas of the gym missing from the inventory are to be housed in the basement.

On the ground floor of the gym, larger storage areas for sports equipment, a chair storage and a teacher area can be created by eliminating the locker room.

Museum” Cold War “The underground corridor and the connection/technical room of the former operating tract below the gym are to be used as exhibition areas. The impressive premises document the fears as well as the corresponding technical arrangements during the Cold War.

Statics As there were no existing plans for the statics of the building available, the structure was examined in terms of statics and new plans were made. On the basis of these plans, the feasibility of the planned increase could be assessed. The results show that the planned expansion can be implemented without major intervention. Static measures of low dimensions would have to be taken on the current roof area and on some columns, as well as selectively on four isolated foundations. Most of the building's bearing structure can remain unaffected.
