Uninett Sigma2 AS is responsible for the national infrastructure for calculation science in Norway and offers services for supercomputing and storing research data.

This procurement is for a Linux cluster with a network and global file system of high performance. The system must handle I/O and metadata-intensive load.

The main aim of the chosen system is to achieve as much research production as possible above the total cost (TCO).

The procurement consists of 5 different classes of server modes, a high-performance network and a high-performance global parallel file system. In addition the procurement includes a maintenance contract for 4 years.

The contracting authority would like to award the contract to one tenderer for the entire procurement.
