The Netherlands Victim Support Foundation helps victims, relatives, people involved and witnesses after a crime, traffic accident or calamity. Every year, around 220,000 victims are supported offline and 280,000 are helped online. The Netherlands Victim Support Foundation strives to remedy, limit and prevent the material and immaterial damage that victims face as much as possible.
The Netherlands Victim Support Foundation is an independent foundation and is mainly funded by the Ministry of Justice and Security. In addition, the foundation receives financial support from the Victim Aid Fund, municipalities or private individuals. The regular budget size is ± €35,000,000.
At Stichting Victimerhulp Nederland, around 500 paid employees, 1,000 volunteers, 100 external parties and 130 interns are active in 25 locations. The national office is located in Utrecht.
The expectation at the moment is that 2080 hours will be deployed per year. No rights can be derived from this assessment.
