With this, Os municipality invites tenderers to submit tenders for a new nursing home and a dementia department. The existing institutions for the care of the elderly in Os is grouped in 3 buildings:

— Os Nursing Home, built in 1970.

— The addition to Os Nursing Home, built in 1991.

— Luranetunet, built in 1999

The current organisation of institutional-based old age welfare services shall now be further developed within the existing organisation and localisation. The existing nursing homes built in 1970 and 1991 shall be closed when the new nursing home at Luratunet is completed in 2017. 60 new nursing home rooms shall be constructed. At the same time, the existing dementia care (built in 1999, with 80 beds) shall be expanded to 36 new sheltered accomodations. Thus the total new expansion includes more than 96 new care and nursing home places.

The total floor area for this project is only just 8 000 m². A new climatised garden, with a glass roof over an atrium, shall also be constructed. The area is approx. 1 300 m².
