Portsmouth City Council is seeking qualified suppliers to provide 40 sim card-enabled PTZ cameras for bus stops to enhance passenger safety and integrate with the existing CCTV system.
BSIP 42 - Key Bus stops CCTV. Portsmouth City Council ('the council') is inviting tenders from suitably qualified suppliers to provide 40 sim card-enabled, ruggedized Pan-Tilt-Zoom (PTZ) cameras for designated bus stops across the city. The Council will administrate the procurement process using its e-sourcing system In-tend. The In-tend system can be accessed free of charge via the following web link: https://intendhost.co.uk/portsmouthcc/aspx/home
The provision of these cameras will provide real-time and historical viewing capabilities, enhancing the safety of passengers at busy locations, including the newly implemented super stops. The cameras are designed to be easily deployable, allowing them to be moved as needed to different locations. They will be fully integrated with the existing PCC CCTV system, ensuring seamless monitoring and enhancing overall safety and security in these areas. The project aims to improve safety at busy bus stops, making them more secure for passengers and encouraging greater access to public transportation. By equipping high-traffic stops with these advanced cameras, we can deter potential safety issues and respond to incidents more effectively. The cameras will contribute to safer and more accessible public transportation, aligning with the broader goal of improving the city's bus services under the Bus Service Improvement Plan (BSIP). Installation of the cameras will be undertaken internally by the Council.
