The school center Am Heimgarten, Reesenbüttler Redder 4-10 in Ahrensburg is occupied by the two school facilities Eric-Kandel-Gymnasium and Community School Am Heimgarten. The building complex was designed in 1973 as a Kassel model and has been continuously expanded.

As part of the school development planning of the city of Ahrensburg, additional space requirements for classrooms and group rooms are being created for both schools. On the sports field to the west, four new buildings are being built as a campus facility. After completion of the new buildings, the old building will be dismantled except for the sports halls and the current structure of the canteen. In a second construction phase, the existing buildings will be renovated and the sports field will be built in the east of the property. The measure is carried out during ongoing operations.
The aim of the procedure is to develop a sustainable concept in terms of content and space at the interface between pedagogy and architecture.
Construction work is scheduled to start in 2025 and completion in 2028/2029.
The costs are currently estimated at approx. 105 million EURO gross (KG 200-700).
Burnickl Ingenieur GmbH carried out work phase 2 of the measure at the school. The aforementioned office is not excluded from participation in this procedure. The documents drawn up will be made available to the bidders with the invitation to tender.
The services to be awarded consist of:
- Leistungsphase 3 gem. §§ 53 HOAI ALG 1-8,
- Work phases 4-8 according to §§ 53 HOAI ALG 1-8 as an optional assignment by designation of the client (in stages to be determined by the client),
- Service phase 2 (partially) in accordance with §§ 53 HOAI ALG 1-8 as an optional assignment by designating the client (in stages to be determined by the client),
- Special services in all service phases of technical equipment in accordance with §§ 53 HOAI as an optional assignment by designating the client (if necessary in stages to be determined by the client).
Representatives from the specialist service III.1. School and sport as well as specialist services IV.4 Central Property Management will probably take part in the negotiations in an advisory capacity in addition to the client's selection committee.
