Description:
Event accompaniment of the NRW Engagement Award

Preparation and accompaniment of the annual event for the awarding of the NRW Engagement Award as well as preparation of information texts about the twelve projects nominated for the prize.

Around six million people in North Rhine-Westphalia work on a voluntary basis. They promote social cohesion and shape the future of our country with new ideas and practice-oriented solutions. At the same time, civic engagement requires conducive framework conditions.

In order to recognize and honor the diverse commitment in North Rhine-Westphalia, the "NRW Engagement Award" was awarded for the first time in 2015. The prize, which is awarded annually under a different main theme, is intended to bring the great importance of civic engagement more into the public eye and thus make the recognition and appreciation for the commitment clear.

Charitable initiatives, clubs, associations, foundations, gGmbHs and public institutions from North Rhine-Westphalia that pursue approaches and ideas that are recognizably in line with the respective focus topic of the commitment award can apply for the NRW Engagement Award, which is awarded annually by the state of North Rhine-Westphalia in cooperation with the NRW Foundation. Individuals are exempt from this. The initiative, organization or institution applying for the engagement award should have existed for at least one year and it should be recognizable that its commitment is long-term. The project with which the initiative, organisation or institution applies for the NRW Engagement Award must be oriented towards the common good. In addition, it must be largely initiated and supported by civic engagement, which is free of charge.

As part of a jury meeting (chaired by the State Secretary for Sport and Volunteering of the State of North Rhine-Westphalia), twelve (lighthouse) projects will be selected from the applications received, which will thus be nominated for the NRW Engagement Award.

These projects are presented successively - usually month by month (as the so-called "commitments of the month" January to December) - on the website of the State Chancellery in the course of the following calendar year.

Of these twelve pre-selected projects, three projects will ultimately receive the coveted NRW Engineering Prize, which will be awarded in the categories "Jury Prize", "Special Prize (of the NRW Foundation)" and "Audience Award". As part of the event for the awarding of the Engagement Award (which usually takes place around Volunteer Day on 5 December), another prize is sometimes awarded as another "special prize" - in addition to the prizes mentioned (in 2023, for example, a prize from the Ministry of Culture and Science). Citizens decide on the "Audience Award" in the course of an online vote, which is why it is necessary to create appropriate information texts about the initiatives / organizations / institutions with their nominated projects, which are posted on the website of the State Chancellery.

The purpose of this call for tenders is to find a service company that will be commissioned to prepare, accompany and follow up on the event for the awarding of the NRW Engagement Prize and to prepare information texts for the presentation of the twelve projects nominated for the NRW Engagement Award (i.e. the "Engagements of the Months" January to December) on the website of the State Chancellery of the State of North Rhine-Westphalia.
