For this purpose, further battery overhead line buses with high-performance energy storage and intelligent charging and energy management are to be procured. They will be used on the existing catenary system and on routes without catenary in line operation.
Stadtwerke Solingen GmbH - Verkehrsbetrieb (SWS) is a partner in the Rhein-Ruhr transport association. The range of transport comprises 24 lines with approx. 500 stops in the city of Solingen and in neighboring towns and municipalities. The vehicle fleet comprises around 100 buses, each with 50 overhead line and 50 diesel buses. Around 24 million passengers are transported annually on an approximately 200 km route network.

The approval process as tram and motor vehicle according to German law is to be carried out by the contractor. The laws, regulations and guidelines that have been complied with must be presented in the application to participate.
The electronics are double insulated in a watertight and air-cooled device container on / in the roof.
The driver's workplace should be designed according to VDV guidelines.
