University of Helsinki hereinafter referred to as “Contracting Authority” or “Customer” requests your tenders for supplying a sealed tube microfocus X-ray system for protein crystallography (hereinafter referred to as “Supplies”). The purpose of this Call for Tender is to request tenders on sealed tube microfocus X-ray system for protein crystallography, including sealed tube microfocus X-ray source for protein crystallography, a kappa-goniometer, modern pixel array detector and in-situ plate screening option for direct characterization of samples from crystallization plates. The total budget (VAT 0 %) for the supply is 330 000 EUR.
The current X-ray source and detector are outdated and non-functional. Thus, we have decided to purchase a new in-house instrument for diffraction quality screening and data collection for protein crystals. The aim of the procurement is to replace our old rotating anode source with a modern low maintenance sealed tube microfocus X-ray system for protein crystallography with modern pixel array detector and in-situ plate-screening capability. The system must be capable of producing publication quality data from protein crystals and efficiently enable screening of crystals directly from 96-well plates. The system must by software controlled and compatible with a cryo-cooling system as specified. The Tenderer must provide service and maintenance support for the X-ray system. Compulsory requirements for the service and maintenance support are presented in "Other terms of the call for tenders".
