In the marshalling yard in Muttenz there are two signal box buildings (west and east). The existing condition of the infrastructure and technical facilities no longer meets SBB's current requirements. Rooms in need of renovation or that do not meet the needs of the users are empty. Accordingly, the buildings must be upgraded. A renovation is intended to ensure the service life of the two signal box buildings for at least 30 years after completion of the renovation work. This includes, in particular, the replacement of the building services systems including lighting, as well as repair work on the building envelope, in the offices, common areas, cloakrooms and wet rooms. As part of these measures, current fire protection and protection zone concepts must also be implemented.
