Papworth Hospital NHS Foundation Trust wishes to secure the provision of sterile services for surgical instrumentation and medical devices. The service will include the comprehensive provision of sterile services including the cleaning of surgical instruments operating to Medical Devices Directive (93/42/EEC, as amended by Directive 2007/47/EEC) (MDD) and ISO 13485/2003 standards, the delivery and collection of surgical instruments and the provision of associated support services and supplies to the Trust. At present the Trust has an in house service for for provision of sterilisation services.
This advertisement is a voluntary advertisement for a Service Agreement for healthcare services and as such is excluded from the Public Contracts Regulations 2006 under regulation 6(2)(m) save for the application of regulation 46.
Papworth Hospital NHS Foundation Trust has, however, elected voluntarily to follow a form of procurement which will (broadly) follow the key elements of (but will not necessarily follow all of the procedural requirements of) the selected procedure. For the avoidance of doubt, the form of procedure which will be followed will not be subject to the prescriptive requirements of the Public Contracts Regulations 2006, as amended. The procedure will, in any event, be conducted in accordance with the EC Treaty based principles of, inter alia, transparency, equal treatment and non-discrimination.
