The Council advertised a Contract for the Provision of 0-19 (25) Public Health Nursing Service & Healthy Child Programme. The procurement process applied the flexibilities afforded under Competitive Process as defined within the Health Care Services (Provider Selection Regime) Regulations 2023.
The key requirements of the service are:
• 0-4 Health Visiting Service
• All expectant parents / carers / guardians and families with infants and children 0-5 years resident in B&NES
• 5-19 (25) School Nursing Service
• All children attending schools* (including sixth forms) and alternative provision in B&NES, regardless of their home address, aged from school entry until age 19 years of age or up to 25 years of age where there are special educational needs and/or disabilities and/or vulnerable groups
• All home educated pupils residing in B&NES
• Vulnerable groups of children and young people resident in B&NES but who may not be in school
*excluding those noted in Section 5.2 of the Service Specification
• Specialist Community Public Health Nurse Service for Children not Accessing Formal Education
• Children and young people with significant school absence in which parents have reported illness as a reason for absence
• National Child Measurement Programme
• (NCMP) measures the height and weight of children in reception class (aged 4 to 5) and year 6 (aged 10 to 11), to assess overweight and obesity levels in children within primary schools
• Clinic in a Box
• Peripatetic contraception and sexual health clinic for young people
• Family Nurse Partnership
• An innovative and evolving evidence-based, preventive programme for vulnerable first-time parents under 24 years
This notice is an intention to award a contract under the competitive process

Services to run from 1/4/2025 to 31/3/29 with an option to extend by a further 2 years (optional 1+1 year extensions)
