The space program of the replacement building for the areas of the Department of Physics comprises a total of 20 280 m
Due to the large construction volume, the space requirement for the new building in separate buildings, an institute building (Module 1) and a central building (Module 2) will be housed. Both buildings belong together functionally and are connected by structural connecting paths - as well as with the already emerging new building of the Center for Applied Quantum Physics (ZAQuant). The planning takes place up to and including the draft planning at the same time. The construction is to be carried out in 2 stages:
1) Construction phase of the institute building (module 1) from 2 quarter 2022
The institute building (Module 1) occupies a usable area (NF 1-7) of 7 890 m with predominantly highly installed research, laser and cleanroom laboratories as well as office / seminar rooms
2) Construction phase of the central building (module 2) from the 2nd quarter of 2023
The central building (module 2) occupies a usable area (NF 1-7) with a total of 12,390 m with subject-specific lecture halls, seminar and administrative areas, standard / laser laboratories and workshops as well as a cafeteria and operating areas of ZUV
The GBK (module 1) amounts to approx. EUR 110 million.

The technical monitoring and commissioning management shall ensure the desired quality of the buildings, including all technical equipment, at the interfaces between planning and construction phase and the first utilization phase and create the conditions for achieving and maintaining optimal operation.
The implementation of a technical monitoring and commissioning management over the planning, construction and use time requires comprehensive expertise, long-term project experience and interdisciplinary cooperation with the participating planners and the client.
