This procurement relates to the Forest Crop Establishment Services Allocation which will include all aspects of work required to deliver crops to free growing standard. Activities will include: manual, mechanical and maintenance operations. Supply of materials including fencing, fertilisers, herbicides, pesticide and plants for filling in, management of all on-site and associated establishment operations. Monitoring and reporting on the crop throughout the contract period to the Coillte Operations Manager. Lot 2: Crop Establishment Free Growing Contract for Service
Contract for service will be an annual award in 2017, for the 2018 planting season, and will run for circa 2 to 6 years until the crop reach free growing status. Work is divided into geographic areas called Business Area Units (BAU's). Within each BAU, work is further divided into sub-lots. These sub-lots are a package of work within the BAU and are associated with a particular Cost Centre and Operations Manager. Each of these sub-lots will form a separate contract. The sites within these sub-lots may be dispersed over the Forest Operations Manager's geographic area. Work activities include: Cultivation, Planting, Cleaning Manual, Cleaning Chemical, Weevil Spraying, Filling in, Fertilising and Fencing where required.

The contract is for the planting season 2018-2020 inclusive. The initial contract to be awarded will be made in 2017, for the 2018 planting season, with the same number of hectares awarded for 2019 and 2020. Each annual contract will run for circa 2 to 6 years until the crop reach free growing status. Work is divided into geographic areas called Business Area Units (BAU's). Within each BAU, work is further divided into sub-lots. These sub-lots are a package of work within the BAU and are associated with a particular Cost Centre and Operations Manager. Each of these sub-lots will form a separate contract. The sites within these sub-lots may be dispersed over the Forest Operations Manager's geographic area. The allocation of hectares per year will be made on the basis of similar ground and in a similar geographic area. The contract will be required to manage the total aggregate annual hectares awarded to free growing status. Work activities include: Cultivation, Planting, Cleaning Manual, Cleaning Chemical, Weevil Spraying, Filling in, Fertilising and Fencing where required.
