Specialist planning services to support the preparation of a comparative life cycle assessment
In the joint project: EnEff:Stadt INE's “Innovative Energy Supply System for a Changing Commercial District” (acronym: iNES), is planning an innovative energy supply system for a commercial district in Upper Franconia in northern Bavaria. At the site of the former Winterling porcelain factory in Schwarzenbach an der Saale, a networked concept is being created in cooperation with the adjacent companies through shared use of heat and storage. This is intended to enable the continued use of the old industrial area and at the same time avoid unnecessary space consumption by a new building “on a green field”. In the course of the project, the client as a university is compiled a comprehensive life cycle assessment comparison between existing development, including renovation, conversion and partial demolition compared to the virtual construction of a new building with regard to various categories of impact. In determining the basis for life cycle assessment comparison, the client requires the specialist planning services listed in the service description (Appendix 1).
- Recording of the reused building structure, including the necessary conversion measures
- New construction planning with comparable footprint and cubature with recording of the quantity determination for demolition and new building materials with usual energy supply as a plus energy house
- Recording the quantities for excavation, materials, plant technology and the preparation of the data obtained for life cycle assessment for new construction planning Assessment of building technology and installation effort in coordination with the client
- Determination of energy requirements for building operation
- Development and weighting of criteria for decision making (work package 6)
- Preparation of final report and documentation
