The city of Bad Kreuznach owns 203 buildings and structures for which insurance cover for property and technical insurance needs to be rearranged:
Buildings are covered by building and inventory insurance for the risks of fire, tap water, storm/hail, and burglary vandalism.
The city of Bad Kreuznach is interested in taking out elemental damage insurance for these buildings as well.
In addition to insurance for the aforementioned risks, the wastewater disposal facility (sewage treatment plant) is also interested in taking out technical insurance (electronics and machinery insurance).
The city of Bad Kreuznach does not currently determine the value of buildings and structures. Such a system cannot be created even with a justifiable effort.
The current insurance sums are based on an updated building value assessment prior to 2001, during which the actual condition of the buildings was partially not updated. Since 2014, 22 major buildings have been reassessed.
Target:
The city of Bad Kreuznach is interested in taking out material and technical insurance as a global insurance for its buildings and structures as well as for the wastewater treatment plant for the aforementioned damage risks, which saves it from valuing building and inventory, in which the buildings and structures are covered by a maximum liability amount “at 1st risk” is made available for each claim.
The following maximum liability amounts are aimed at for the intended insurance cover in the context of global insurance
1. for the wastewater treatment plant
maximum liability amount of EUR 30 million for all installations/plant components on and outside the insurance property,
these are for electrical/machine technology as well as for buildings/inventories,
with the following compensation limits:
Elemental damage EUR 5 million as maximum annual compensation
Burglary/vandalism 500,000 EUR
2. for the remaining buildings/inventory with the following maximum compensation “at 1st risk” per claim
fire 20 million EUR
Tap water 5 million EUR
Storm/hail 5 million EUR
Burglary/vandalism 500,000 EUR
The term of the insurance contract should be between 3 and 5 years.
As part of this expression of interest procedure, interested bidders are asked to inform whether global insurance can be concluded with the aforementioned maximum liability amounts without a concrete valuation of the insured buildings/inventory.
As part of the expression of interest procedure, interested bidders are asked to inform whether higher sums of insurance can be offered, in particular for the “remaining buildings/inventories”, and whether natural damage insurance can also be offered.
Interested bidders are also asked to provide an indicative asking price for the insurance service for the intended insurance cover in the context of global insurance and for the insurance concept they are considering.
This procedure does not directly serve to conclude a contract. The city of Bad Kreuznach does much more to evaluate whether the global insurance described has a relevant market and, if applicable, whether taking out a global insurance policy is economically viable.
