The First Ark Group consists of five companies: First Ark Ltd, KHT, Vivark Ltd, Oriel and One Ark.

First Ark is seeking bids from appropriately skilled and experienced contractors to provide Asbestos Removals service across the North West, primarily in Knowsley.

The successful bidders will be required to provide Asbestos Removals services to First Ark including unlicensed notifiable removals and licensed removals of higher risk ACMs. Removals will take place in predominantly empty homes and as part of responsive repairs to occupied properties. Some removals may also take place as part of planned improvement works undertaken by First Ark such as the ERP (external repairs and painting) programme.

The tender is to establish a framework of multiple contractors. It is envisaged that the final framework will be awarded to approximately 4 contractors.

Successful bidders will fully comply with the Control of Asbestos Regulations 2012 and Approved Code of Practice Guidance L143.

The framework will be available to use by First Ark and all other members of the First Ark Group. Other contracting authorities, particularly other registered providers of social housing, will also be able to access the framework with prior permission from First Ark

Potential value (exclusive of VAT) is approximately GBP 360 000 per annum. This is for information only based on First Ark historical expenditure, and no guarantees are given, nor are implied as to the value or quantity of business that will be placed with successful bidders. First Ark reserves the right to change the volume of work during the life of the framework, and where other contracting authorities use the framework the value of expenditure may increase significantly.

The framework is expected to commence in April 2015.
