As part of the planned as-is analysis of the Muldeaue, soil and sediment samples must be taken and handed over to the laboratory commissioned with the analysis. The services are accompanied by engineering.

In order to develop a floodplain management concept, the condition of the soils and sediments in the large-scale project area of the Mulde floodplain between Bitterfeld and Dessau is to be recorded. A data basis is to be created for the longer-term goal of developing an integral floodplain management concept, taking into account the pollutant load on the floodplain areas of the Mulde in conjunction with targeted measures to minimize pollutant loads and taking into account the requirements of soil, nature, water and flood protection.

The body is in poor condition as part of the WFD assessment. The reason for the condition of the floodplain is that pollutants (HCH, DDX, organotin compounds, heavy metals, dioxins and furans) that have been deposited during previous flood events can be mobilised during floods. However, there is still a lack of a large-scale system understanding of which areas in the Muldeaue act as a source and where pollutants can be mobilized again. Furthermore, it should also be clarified in the future whether there is an impairment of the protected interests and whether there is a need for further action due to the burdens. The services advertised here include the collection of soil and sediment samples as well as their transfer to the laboratory commissioned with the analysis. The term sediment refers to the soft, muddy deposits of the waterbed. Suspended solids and gravelly/stony substrates of the subsoil shall not be included in the investigation.
