Biomedical Imaging Unit/A. I. Virtanen Institute at the University of Eastern Finland will acquire a small animal CT system. This CT system will be used in connection with other PET and MRI systems in our imaging center, which currently serves as a national core facility for small animal MRI as well as a local core facility for small animal PET. The main application areas currently are providing anatomical reference data for PET neuro and cardiac imaging; however, as a service facility there is need for all kind of imaging applications and technical support for rapid implementation and use of new methodology is important.
