The contract award is for the delivery of groceries and staple products to the Contracting Authority's user places. The Framework Agreement must at all times cover the Contracting Authority’s need for such products.
The contract includes the procurement of, amongst other things, spreads, butter and margarine products, bullion, sauces, desserts, deep frozen meat and fish products, deep frozen vegetable products, juice, cheese, coffee/tea, etc. It is only fresh products and dairy products that are not included in the contract. There will be separate tender competitions for the following product groups:
— bread and bakery products,
— fresh fish and fish products,
— fresh meat and meat products,
— vegetables, fruit and berries,
— dairy products.
The contract that is signed will primarily be a contract for the units that produce food for delivery to nursing homes/institutions and for persons living at home. Other units at the Contracting Authority such as, schools, nurseries, cafes, day centres, rehabilitation centres, are also covered by the contract and can use the contract to place orders if needed. Break bulk will be required for delivery to these user units. The contract will not be obligatory for these other units.
