Hochstraße Süd (B37) - Replacement of the Pilzhochstraße in Ludwigshafen am Rhein, main construction project: Bauprojektgesellschaft Ludwigshafen mbH (BPG), as a municipal company of the city of Ludwigshafen am Rhein, is planning the replacement of the Pilzhochstraße, which was dismantled in 2020. The replacement building is part of the inner-city Hochstraße Süd B37 and part of the inner-city elevated road system Ludwigshafen.

The width of the footbridges varies depending on the width of the road.
The bridge is located in a narrow inner-city area with a spatially restricted construction site. Constraints result both from the inner-city location and the central development function of the bridge, as well as from the technical, scheduling and construction process interfaces to adjacent existing buildings as well as parallel construction measures in the immediate vicinity of the replacement building Pilzhochstraße.
The bridge has a length of over 520 m, runs parallel to railway facilities and crosses various tram lines. The B 37 traffic route, as the most important diversion route, must be able to be operated efficiently again before the start of the traffic-obstructing work on the defunct Hochstraße Nord (B 44). A postponement of the necessary measures on the Hochstraße Nord beyond the end of 2025 cannot be accepted for traffic and safety reasons for public transport. Therefore, it is necessary that the bridge is completed by the end of September 2025, so that from 30.09.2025 at the latest the equipment trades not covered by the tender (crash barriers, marking/signage, lighting equipment) can carry out their services. The traffic release on the replacement building will take place on 01.01.2026.
The replacement building closes the gap between the "White High Road" in the west and the remaining abutments at the rolling mill in the east. The scope of services also includes the reconnection of the ramp connections, the repair of the remaining retaining walls and the adaptation of existing systems. The replacement building is to be erected on the site and in the extensive outline of the "old mushroom high road". In addition, the drainage systems in the carriageways, including the canal systems below the bridge structures, must be adapted or renewed. Paving work in the area of the structures must be carried out. The work also includes dismantling, foundations, pillars and equipment.
