The veterinary duty services scheme was established in accordance with the Act of 15 June 2021 no. 75 on veterinary surgeons and other animal health personnel, section 3a.

The veterinary duty scheme ensures that the municipality/municipalities establish a clinical duty for veterinary surgeons in all parts of the country, so that necessary veterinary help can be obtained outside ordinary

working hours. The veterinary duty scheme is a necessary part of the stand-by against serious infectious animal diseases.
