Stadtwerke Stuttgart GmbH and Stuttgarter Netze GmbH plan to move their respective headquarters, consisting of administration and technical areas with workshops, to a common location in the future. For this purpose, the “Kesselstrasse 23 in Stuttgart-Wangen” property was identified as a suitable existing property as a result of a location search, which is now to be rented on a long-term basis and renovated and converted according to requirements.
The Kesselstrasse 23 property is a large, cohesive building with an adjoining outdoor area, which was planned and constructed in several construction phases and is divided into three components:
1. The “office” component with eight above-ground floors and a basement floor must be upgraded to fire protection technology. In addition, the office space is to be converted with a view to modern working environments and to meet the specific requirements of future users.
2. The “storage” component with three above-ground floors and a basement floor is to be adapted to the requirements of users internally by means of partial installations on all floors.
3. The single-storey and non-basement component "Workshop" must be rebuilt and upgraded according to the extensive requirements of the new user.
For the “office” component, interior construction includes the dismantling of non-load-bearing existing walls and surfaces, as well as the expansion into modern working environments with closed and open workspaces, retreat and collaboration areas, as well as meeting and ancillary rooms. The active involvement of the user with all department-specific requirements must be taken into account here.
The overall construction project is to take place in the period from 5 July 2021 to 30 November 2022.
