During the spring, summer and autumn seasons in the period 2022-2025, Norsk Polarinstitutt (NP) [the Norwegian Polar Institute] will utilise helicopters in connection with NP's expedition activity (the Svalbard expedition) on the Svalbard archipelago and in the surrounding sea areas.

The helicopter will primarily be used to transport personnel and materials, as well as for immobilisation and marking of polar bears and flights with instruments in connection with research.

The contract will be valid for the period March - September in each of the years. (further details are in the requirement specifications)

The helicopter and its crew are to be exclusively available for NP during the contract periods.

The helicopter will operate in the entire Svalbard area, both over land and the sea areas in ice covered areas.
