The town hall of the city of Essen from 1979 must be upgraded in terms of fire protection.

In the course of the upcoming renovation, all suspended ceilings will be renewed or refurbished and work on the technical equipment and modernization measures will be carried out. In the course of these measures, a preliminary pollutant remediation is required.

After a sample floor (4th floor) of the office tower of the town hall in Essen has been renovated (completion at the end of 2019), a further 20 floors of this office tower are to be renovated while the remaining floors are in operation, starting in 2019 and in the coming years until 2026. In each case, usually 3 or 2 floors are renovated at the same time and with little time lag between each other.

The tender for drywall work on the first block, 1st - 3rd floor, is already running.
