Provision of water protection consulting in the drinking water protection cooperation Westharz Forstwirtschaft for the period from 01.01.2023 to 31.05.2028 on the basis of an already existing protection concept (see procurement documents).

As an intermediary between the 8 forest managers and the water supplier, the water protection consultancy supports and coordinates the cooperation in drinking water protection cooperation in an area of around 300 km² and works on the following tasks, among others:

- Raising awareness of the problem of turbidity mobilisation among forest managers, in particular in the context of changes in management responsibilities.

- Implementation of individual consultations with the land managers

Persons (forest managers) for the conception of measures.

- Continuous development of the catalogue of measures for the voluntary agreements in the funding period 2023 – 2027 and processing of the remaining measures from the previous funding period 2018 - 2022 through extensive site investigations and coordination with the forest managers and, depending on the approval requirements, with the lower water and nature conservation authorities and, if necessary, other specialist authorities for the conception of measures.

- Ensuring the implementation of measures in accordance with the provisions of the voluntary agreements and compliance with the budget.

- Continuous review and presentation of the cost framework, in particular technical and accounting examination of all invoices concerning the implementation of measures and the necessary coordination with the district foresters and construction companies.

- Preparation of circulars for managers as accompanying information on the implementation of measures.

- Coordination between the water protection consultancy, the managers and the central laboratory of the Harzwasserwerke GmbH (monitoring) in connection with threshold value exceedances for turbidity reporting chains and subsequent cause research.

- Creation and continuous updating of project maps for the spatial identification of erosion focal points and assignments of measures.

- Creation of further thematic maps in the funding period 2023 – 2027 to assess the erosion risk.

- Participation in meetings, site visits and content design of the cooperation meetings as well as expert advice on water protection area designations and presentation of the drinking water protection cooperation Westharz forestry at high-profile events.

- Documentation of the measures carried out in text and image (in the database) and in the map.
