The objective of procurement is oral rabies vaccines for foxes and raccoon dogs in order to prevent rabies from entering Finland and to maintain Finland rabies-free.
The Finnish Food Authority works for the good of humans, animals and plants, supports the vitality of the agricultural sector, and develops and maintains information systems. The Finnish Food Authority began its operations on 1.1.2019 when the Finnish Food Safety Authority, the agency for rural affairs and part of the IT services of the National Land Survey of Finland were merged into one single Authority. The Finnish Food Authority purchases oral rabies vaccines which supplier delivers to Helsinki Finland. Finnish Food Authority distributes the vaccines in the vaccination area. The estimated amount of vaccine baits purchased under the contract is 180 000 vaccine baits per year. Vaccines shall be delivered once in a year.
